05/18/2015 9:49 AM ET

Retail sales were disappointingly flat (http://www.marketwatch.com/story/retail-sales-flat-in-april-as-gas-savings-continue-to-be-pocketed-2015-05-13) in April. Consumer sentiment fell to a seven-month low (http://www.marketwatch.com/story/consumer-sentiment-tumbles-to-seven-month-low-2015-05-15). And industrial production fell for the fifth straight month (http://www.marketwatch.com/story/us-factory-sector-seems-lifeless-after-fifth-straight-drop-2015-05-15).
