Gross / Net Expense Ratio
Under the Fund’s expense reimbursement arrangements, the Fund’s investment adviser, Teachers Advisors, Inc. (“Advisors”), has contractually agreed to reimburse the Fund for any Total Annual Fund Operating Expenses (excluding interest, taxes, brokerage commissions or other transactional expenses, Acquired Fund Fees and Expenses and extraordinary expenses) that exceed:0.25% of average daily net assets for Premier Class shares of the Fund. These expense reimbursement arrangements will continue through at least September 30, 2014, unless changed with approval of the Board of Trustees.

Hans Erickson is a portfolio manager for the TIAA-CREF organization. Mr. Erickson has responsibility for Lifecycle the asset allocation portfolios as well as allocation analytics for the diversified equity, active global equity, large-cap growth and social choice balanced investment strategies. He joined the TIAA-CREF organization in 1996. Mr. Erickson has 26 years of investment experience, including prior positions with the Franklin Templeton organization and Morgan Stanley. Mr. Erickson holds a B.A. in mathematics/economics from Lawrence University and an M.S.E. in operations research from Princeton University. He is a member of the Chicago Quantitative Alliance, the Q-Group and the CFA Society of San Francisco.
John Cunniff is a managing director and quantitative portfolio manager for the TIAA-CREF organization. Mr. Cunniff manages asset allocation portfolios. He joined the TIAA-CREF organization in 2006. Mr. Cunniff has 22 years of industry experience. Previously, he served as director of U.S. research at Morgan Stanley Investment Management and as a portfolio manager for both Van Kampen Investments and Franklin Templeton Investments. Mr. Cunniff earned a B.S. from Johns Hopkins University, an M.S.E. from Princeton University, and an M.B.A. from Columbia University. He is a member of the New York Society of Securities Analysts.
