William Zumeta is professor at the Evans School of Public Policy & Governance and the College of Education at the University of Washington in Seattle, where he’s served since 1985. He was associate dean of the Evans School from 2001–2005, faculty coordinator for the Ph.D. in Public Policy and Management program at the Evans School from 2008-2014, and co-director from 2009-2015 of the Collaborative Researchers in Education Sciences Training program. He previously taught at the University of British Columbia, University of California, Los Angeles, and the Claremont Graduate University.

Zumeta’s research on numerous topics in higher education policy and finance has been supported by a wide range of government agencies, foundations and national groups. He holds a Ph.D. in public policy and an M.P.P. from the Goldman School of Public Policy at the University of California, Berkeley, as well as a B.A. in political science from Haverford College.
