The Category Kings monthly performance ranking uses the total return for the top 10 funds ranked by year-to-date performance as of Oct. 31, 2012; assets, in millions of dollars, as of Sep. 28. Total return includes capital appreciation and reinvested distributions. Returns shown for periods of one year or less are cumulative. Fixed-income performance numbers are preliminary. Group average returns may differ from those in Yardsticks because the table uses a different set of objectives; for funds with multiple share classes, only the largest is shown.
