Jack Gay is a managing director and a member of the general account real estate fixed income portfolio management team for the TIAA-CREF organization. Mr. Gay is head of commercial mortgage portfolio management and is responsible for developing and implementing commercial mortgage investment strategies and managing commercial mortgage investments including loan workouts and loan sales. The portfolio consists of senior mortgage whole loans, structured subordinate debt transactions such as B-notes and mezzanine loans, and select CMBS rake bond investments. Previously, he was responsible for the organization’s capital markets activities including investments in structured debt transactions and securitization/distribution of commercial mortgage investments. Mr. Gay’s other prior roles include managing commercial mortgage production teams for both the Eastern and Western portions of the US. He joined the TIAA-CREF organization in 2002.
Mr. Gay has 28 years of investment experience. Previously, he worked at JP Morgan Chase in a variety of roles including CMBS lending, real estate asset dispositions and loan workouts.
Mr. Gay holds a BS in finance from Lehigh University and an M.B.A. in finance from New York University.
