L. Kevin Chen is a director and portfolio manager for the TIAA-CREF organization. As a member of the Fixed Income team, Mr. Chen is responsible for quantitative portfolio strategies in global fixed-income markets, quantitative market surveillance, investment analytics and performance analysis. Previously he was director, Market Risk, Enterprise Risk Management, where he was responsible for firm-wide risk management activities including both market and credit risk analysis, covering fixed-income holdings across a wide spectrum of investment vehicles. He joined the TIAA-CREF organization in 2004.
Mr. Chen has over 12 years of industry experience including positions at the United Nations’ Development Program (UNDP), where he served as a treasury consultant responsible for investment portfolio risk reporting, foreign currency hedging and portfolio performance analysis, and as founder and senior partner at OSI Solutions, where he provided services to clients in banking, investment management, electronic commerce, and public transportations.
Mr. Chen earned a B.S. in Computer Information Science from Fudan University, an M.S. in Computer Science from Temple University, and an M.B.A. in Finance and Operations Research from New York University.
