Alexander Muromcew is a managing director and active equity portfolio manager with the TIAA-CREF organization. Mr. Muromcew manages emerging markets equity portfolios. He joined the TIAA-CREF organization in 2004.
Mr. Muromcew has 26 years of investment experience. Previously, he was a vice president and portfolio manager for the Loomis Sayles International portfolio for five years and co-manager of the Nicholas Applegate International portfolio for three years. He began his career as a sell-side analyst for Jardine Fleming Securities in Tokyo and also worked for Teton Partners, an international long/short hedge strategy in Boston.
Mr. Muromcew holds a B.A. in East Asian studies from Dartmouth College and an M.B.A. from the Stanford Graduate School of Business. He is fluent in Japanese.
