TIAA-CREF was named to DiversityInc’s Top 50 Companies for Diversity for the company’s ongoing commitment to establishing effective and successful approaches to diversity and inclusion.
The Top 50 Companies for Diversity is considered the premiere recognition for organizations with a clear and sustained allegiance to diversity and inclusion in and beyond the workplace setting. TIAA-CREF ranked 41st on the list.
“Being selected for this recognition is an honor and a testament to TIAA-CREF’s strong commitment to diversity and inclusion,” said Roger Ferguson, President and CEO. “We believe a diverse and inclusive workforce is one of our greatest strengths and a key measure of the wealth of our company. By building a culture that allows all employees to contribute their unique talents and skills, we’re able to provide our clients with fresh ideas and distinct perspectives to help them achieve their goals.”
“Diversity is more than just something we believe in, or the right thing to do – it represents who we are as a company,” said Jerome Miller, Senior Vice President, Chief Diversity Officer. “We focus on diversity and inclusion in all aspects of our business and this recognition confirms we are hitting the mark.”
Now in its 13th year, the DiversityInc. Top 50 Companies for Diversity evaluates organizations on four key areas for diversity management: CEO Commitment, Human Capital, Corporate and Organizational Communications and Supplier Diversity. Derived exclusively from corporate survey submissions, the top 50 are then broken down into subsets of the data that are used to determine 14 specialty awards, such as the top companies for recruitment and retention, the top companies for executive women, the top companies for people with disabilities and the top 25 Noteworthy Companies, among others.
