TIAA-CREF is not connected with the mailing of these letters or checks, which appear to be fraudulent.

Anyone who receives a sweepstakes or other notice similar to the one described above from TIAA-CREF should know the following:

  • The check is counterfeit.  Do not attempt to cash it.
  • Do not send any money to anyone involved in this.  If you have already sent money, please contact the non-emergency phone number of your local law enforcement agency.

You will never receive a solicitation like the one described above from TIAA-CREF.
