Roger Ferguson Named to President's Economic Recovery Advisory Board

Roger W. Ferguson, Jr., TIAA-CREF's President and CEO has been named to President Obama's Economic Recovery Advisory Board.  The Board "will be charged with offering independent advice to the President as he formulates and implements his plans for economic recovery," according to a White House press release.

Mr. Ferguson said: "I am honored to serve on the President's Economic Recovery Advisory Board and appreciate the opportunity to contribute to the work underway to strengthen our financial markets and the economy."

The Board is chaired by former Federal Reserve Chairman Paul Volcker, a former member of the TIAA-CREF Board of Overseers, and includes among its members David F. Swensen, chief investment officer at Yale University and a current TIAA Trustee.

Mr. Ferguson, a former Vice Chairman of the Federal Reserve, also served on the President-elect's Transition Economic Advisory Board.
