TIAA-CREF was honored on the Floor of the US House of Representatives as two New York Congressmen recognized the company's contribution to New York and the entire country.

"The important work that this company does in helping Americans plan for retirement and save for a quality education is unparalleled," said Congressman Peter T. King (R-NY), who represents parts of Long Island including the communities of Massapequa, Glen Cove, Oyster Bay, and Bethpage.

Those sentiments were echoed by Congressman Joseph Crowley (D-NY), who represents parts of the Bronx and Queens, including the communities of Throggs Neck, Sunnyside, and Jackson Heights.  "As TIAA-CREF evolved over the years to meet new challenges," said Rep. Crowley, "its noble mission bestowed on them by [Andrew] Carnegie never changed: to aid and strengthen the institutions they serve and to provide financial products that are suited to the needs of such entities, their employees, and their families on the best terms practicable."
