TIAA-CREF Trust Company can assist your institution in establishing a Donor-Advised Fund (PDF) and provide you with all of the necessary services to run it effectively and efficiently.

Program Development and Consultation

Provide prototype documents needed for your donor-advised program, including donor agreements, disclosure forms, grant recommendation forms and donor receipts.
Help write guidelines for the receipt and distribution of donated property and funds.
Help develop procedures to ensure appropriate due diligence, including whether a potential grantee meets the criteria set forth in your institution’s guidelines and relevant federal tax laws.

Portfolio Management

Manage the assets held in donor-advised accounts.
Work with you to determine the most appropriate investment pools for your institution by investing in proprietary and/or third-party institutional mutual funds.

Administrative Services

Provide custody services for assets in donor-advised accounts.
Offer sub-accounting services and reporting for all donor accounts in any pooled investment arrangements.
Prepare financial reports on all asset accounts maintained as part of the donor-advised fund program.
Develop a customized donor statement.
Process donor contributions either directly from a donor or through the sponsoring institution in accordance with your pre-established procedures.
Process grant payments as directed by the sponsoring institution.
