TIAA-CREF Names Sheila Hooda, Senior Managing Director and Head of Strategy

TIAA-CREF, the leading provider of retirement savings products and services in the academic, medical and cultural fields, announced today that Sheila Hooda has joined the company as Senior Managing Director and Head of Strategy. She will report into Bertram L. Scott, Executive Vice President for Strategy, Integration & Policy and member of TIAA-CREF's Executive Management Team.

Ms. Hooda will be responsible for the company's long-term strategic planning as well as the pursuit of growth and business development opportunities. She will lead efforts to add or strengthen products and services that TIAA-CREF offers clients through mergers, acquisitions and joint ventures.

Ms. Hooda joins TIAA-CREF from Credit Suisse, where she has worked since 1998; most recently as Managing Director in the Investment Banking Division. Her previous experience includes working at McKinsey & Co., and Banker's Trust, where she held leadership roles in the Strategy, Sales, Marketing, Client Relationship Management and Business Development areas.

Ms. Hooda received her M.B.A in Finance from the University Of Chicago Graduate School Of Business and has a Masters in Management from the Indian Institute of Management-Ahmedabad, India. She serves on the boards of various non profits in the areas of Micro Credit and Education focusing on the under privileged in developing countries.
