Investment Objective
The fund seeks a favorable long-term total return, mainly from capital appreciation, by investing primarily in a portfolio of equity securities selected to track the overall U.S. equity markets.
Portfolio Strategy
The fund is designed to track U.S. equity markets as a whole and invests substantially all of its net assets in stocks in the Russell 3000® Index. The fund uses a sampling approach to create a portfolio that closely matches the overall investment characteristics (for example, market capitalization and industry weightings of securities) of the index without actually investing in all 3,000 stocks in the index.
