Cash Solutions
For accounts of $25,000 or more, TIAA-CREF Brokerage Services offers the Cash Solutions Gold Account, a comprehensive cash management solution that has all of the features of a basic brokerage account, plus additional services, such as:
- Unlimited check writing
- A gold MasterCard debit card
- Access to the latest financial news at our Web Center
- Cost-basis tracking
- Expense tracking, and
- A consolidated portfolio summary that includes both brokerage and Cash Solution Account activity.
Account owners with at least $250,000 invested in the TIAA-CREF Cash Solutions Platinum account receive additional benefits including:
- A no-transaction-fee platinum MasterCard debit card
- A no-fee IRA*
- Access to extended hours trading, and
- Other premium trading services including alerts and additional real-time quotes.
Automatic Sweep
All cash balances, including dividends, interest and proceeds from sales, are automatically invested into a "sweep" vehicle that you select. TIAA-CREF Brokerage Services offers several sweep alternatives, including an FDIC-insured account (Reserved Insured Deposits) as well as taxable and tax-exempt money market funds. A money market fund is neither insured nor guaranteed by the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation or any other government agency. Although money market funds strive to maintain a stable net asset value of $1 per share, they offer no promise to do so. As a result, it's possible to lose money by investing in them.
* An annual IRA account maintenance fee will be charged on all accounts under $50,000. If you have total assets with TIAA-CREF in excess of $50,000, this fee will be waived.
