TIAA-CREF, the leading provider of retirement savings products and services in the academic, medical and cultural fields, announced today that Lewisville, Texas will be the site for its National Contact Center expansion, bringing 350 new local jobs to the Lewisville and Dallas area over the next two years.
TIAA-CREF has had a regional office in the Dallas area since 1985 and the Lewisville site will serve as a third location in TIAA-CREF's contact center network providing individual client support. The organization's current network has 1,100 employees in both Charlotte and Denver that manage calls and emails and provide customer service, advice and counseling to TIAA-CREF clients.
"The new site represents our service commitment to clients and will support our company's future growth, said Fran Nolan, Executive Vice President of Individual Client Services for TIAA-CREF. The addition of 350 employees in the Lewisville area will increase our capacity to serve new and existing clients as they move to and through retirement."
"The City of Lewisville is excited about TIAA-CREF locating this facility in the Lakeside Office development of Vista Ridge," said Gene Carey, Mayor of the City of Lewisville. "This project further demonstrates the ability of the City to be supportive of projects that bring quality jobs and investment to the community."
TIAA-CREF has signed a long term lease on the site located at Lakeside Office Center 1, 2850 Lake Vista Drive in Lewisville, and the National Contact Center will occupy 34,000 sq. ft. of the property. A national search was conducted in order to locate a facility with the necessary features for a fully functional contact center. The Lewisville site proved to be a perfect fit due to the high number of residents licensed to work in financial services.
"We chose the Dallas-area primarily for the large labor pool of financial services professionals," said Nolan." We plan to hire consultants in April to begin taking calls at our Lewisville location by early July."
"Denton County has maintained a history of working with all of the Denton County cities on Economic Development projects," said Bobbie Mitchell, County Commissioner, Pct. 3. "Our goal is to provide jobs within Denton County so that every citizen of the County can work within the County if they choose. This project further diversifies our employment base, which is positive for all of us."
"I am very excited about the announcement of the TIAA-CREF project in Lewisville," said Senator Chris Harris, (R-TX). "TIAA-CREF has been an outstanding leader in the Dallas Fort Worth area for over two decades, and the expansion of their National Contact Center on Lake Vista Dr. will create hundreds of new jobs which will support further economic development."
The new site will house approximately 350 financial services professionals by the end of 2008 primarily through local hires. TIAA-CREF already has 40 employees in local offices in Austin, Dallas and Houston.
