TIAA-CREF Opposes Additional Reporting Requirements on Non-Profit Sector Employee Benefit Plans

New York, October 04, 2006 -- On July 21, 2006, the U.S. Department of Labor issued proposed regulations that would, if adopted, subject non-profit sector employee benefit plans to all of the same reporting requirements as private sector plans, beginning in 2009.  TIAA-CREF urges the Department of Labor not to impose additional reporting requirements on non-profit sector employee benefit plans, and has submitted two comment letters to the Department opposing the proposed rules.
