In choosing stocks and corporate bonds for our socially screened portfolios, we use screening criteria implemented by KLD Research & Analytics, Inc. (KLD), an independent provider of social research specializing in environmental, social and governmental (ESG) assessments. Companies in KLD’s Broad Market Social Index (BMSI) and Global Sustainability Index (GSI) ex-U.S. meet or exceed the screening criteria for our social choice products.
This screening process favors corporations that are strong stewards of the environment; serve local communities and society overall; commit to high labor standards for their own employees and those in their supply chains; produce high-quality and safe products; and manage their companies in an exemplary and ethical manner.
